Last Summer;

March 04, 2011

One night about a month ago I went to bed early. I awoke at about 2 AM, restless. I skimmed what was on TV, but there was nothing I was remotely interested in watching that included a cartoon character or some sort of sales pitch. I scrolled to ACM where I saw a movie called 'Last Summer' had just started. It was from 1969 and was a movie about teenagers during the summer. It was about the loss of innocence and it starred a young Barbara Hershey. I was captivated.

Afterwards, I could barely go to sleep. I was certainly obsessed. After more research on the film, I discovered that it was based on a novel by Evan Hunter. I had to obtain the novel. I just had to. I searched locally, I called bookstores, and pilfered through every stack of books the largest flea market in my area had to offer. The pickings on Amazon were even slim. Finally, I broke down and ordered a used copy from Amazon Sunday and it just arrived about fifteen minutes ago! I am so overjoyed!

At least that's something wonderful that's happened this week! I'm off to read for awhile! ♥
