The One Where We Go To The Park

January 22, 2014

Okay, so who else feels totally thrown off by the holiday Monday? Oh, just me? Cool.

Either way, I can't believe it's already Wednesday. This week has flown by faster than what I've known what to do with myself. Yesterday, I mentioned that Jack and I did a little 'adventuring' while I visited home. Well, one of our first adventures was to the horse track on Saturday, but unfortunately I didn't get to snap any pictures and our second adventure was to the park (you may have caught my insta)! It was so nice and sunny Sunday afternoon that the park sounded like the perfect place to be.

So, we went to our local park...and so did about 2724740937371302989 other people. Who could blame them though, right? The park is near the community pond where we like to go fishing during the summer and has a nice track to walk around and plenty of open space in which to play. Jack made use of the jungle gym and slid down the twisty slide too many times to count (giggling with joy each and every time). He was paralyzed by the monkey bars and delighted over the spinning chair. He climbed back up the slid with all the success of a big kid. He patiently observed other kids, careful not to slide into or bump into anyone. I had a proud big sister moment, as he waited patiently for smaller (and some larger kids) to take their sometimes very slow turns. Jack was also fascinated when someone brought their large dog to the park. He kindly asked to pet the dog and they quickly became fast friends.

On the trail we walked, Jack quickly scouted out "clues" and hid behind trees only to pop out and pretend to be a monster. He mastered our old point and shoot camera, documenting his own set of adventures along the way as well. I could not get him to stop taking pictures, except for when he was playing. Maybe we have a future photographer on our hands?

Overall, this day was a success. We played hard and someone proceeded to come home and take a three hour nap afterwards, but I won't say who.

What little adventures have you been up to? Tell me about it!
