4 Ways To Spruce Up Your Summer Decor at TJMaxx and Marshalls

June 16, 2020

Hey guys, long time...no blog! I don't know why I stopped blogging, but I figured it may be good to pop in here every now and then - no pressure. Right now, I have everything home decor on the brain. We've been in a season of staying home (obviously, due to the pandemic) and it has me thinking about every inch of our beloved starter home and the potential it has. Before we even were encouraged to stay home my 2020 resolutions included a lot more intentionality and centered around our home. I wanted to focus on bringing in more accent pieces, since we have purchased most of the large pieces in our home, to really up the coziness and stylish factor.

If you know me, which maybe you don't, then you'll know I'm a #babeonabudget. My husband and I's main goal in life is financial security and abundance and budgeting has been a huge piece of that! So, I went to my favorite budget home decor site - TJMaxx (and by extension - Marshalls) to see if there was anything new we could bring in to really spruce up our rooms for the summer!

I didn't need much, maybe new pillows or maybe some colorful home accents...and boy did I find so much that caught my eye. In fact, I found so many things that I've translated them into 4 fun mood boards, grouped together by style, so that you can also spruce up your space on a budget!

Beachy Boho
Total Cost - $236.93
It's hard to say which mood board is my favorite, but I am absolutely loving this Beachy Boho one SO much! I love the classic pieces, pops of colors, and laid back feel! The abstract art reminds me of a sunset and the books about surfing and vibrant meals feel so summery. The pillow is a soft blush, boho moment and the Moroccan-inspired leather pouf is a design staple that is both stylish, functional, and on trend! The wire basket is perfect for corralling shoes, blankets, or beach towels, while the faux plant brings in a hint of life to the overall space!

Coastal Glam
Total Cost - $339.91
This next mood board explores a softer, more feminine side of my own personal design sense. It mixes classic elements with soft washes of color and beachy accents for the ultimate Coastal Glam inspired room! Large coastal art in blush tones set the mood. I loved the large scale photograph next to a simple repeating pattern of coral. An oversized textured pouf pairs perfectly with a textured pillow and boho print pillow. Add a blush drinkware into this The trio of baskets are the perfect dupes for the more expensive versions found at spots like Serena & Lily - designer look at an affordable price. They're functional, beautiful, and help tie in the color scheme. Stash these in an unused or empty corner to instantly give your space a face lift!

Urban Neutrals
Total Cost - $285.92
This mood board feels a little bit more city-sleek and perfect for those who are looking to add neutral accents to their existing decor that can be re-used season after season. A small rattan accent chair helps bring in a coastal feel, while also being modern. Abstract art in neutral and warm tones, with a black frame feels chic and timeless. A geometric wool pouf adds texture and coziness to the space, with a faux plant brings in some color and life! Neutral, contrasting pillows with texture help bring the space together. Complete the room with a small vase and trendy coffee table book!

Boho Moment
Total Cost - $299.92
Last, but not least if you're looking to add colorful, fun accents and have a bit of a "Boho Moment" then this mood board is for you! For a hint of summer pair a round rattan-inspired accent chair with a large piece of art like this chic palm leaf print! Bring color into the room with coffee table books that have brightly colored covers and through pillows. This teal velvet pillow looks perfectly charming when paired with a neutral textured lumbar. A wire basket adds a bit functionality and glamor to the room, while a faux plant and bud vase act as the perfect accent pieces!

Also, this post isn't sponsored, I just love a good TJMaxx find!
