It's been so hot here recently (inching toward the hundreds) that Jack and I can now be found exclusively poolside, Popsicles in hand, and lathered in SPF. We go to the local pool at least once a week on an off day to avoid the big crowds, but lately it's been more crowded than ever. Apparently everyone has been having the same idea.

Jack loves being in the water and sliding down the kiddie slides. He's perfected crawling on his hands and kicking his feet in the shallow waters and with each week he gets more comfortable. In preparation for the beach, he got some spiffy new goggles and has taken to wearing them around the house. He got to test them out at the pool this last week with a mix of fear and fascination. We've been working on going underwater, and though we're not there yet, I'm sure he'll get there soon.

Poolside is the place to be this summer.
