Social Shopping, Saving, and Sharing - Hautelook

August 02, 2013

It's FRIDAY! That means it's time for another social shopping, saving, and sharing post! This is a mini feature I'm doing where I share/compare/review sites that I shop on  which are related to saving. Most of the sites I'll be featuring are flash sale sites, member only sites, and sites related to saving (but that's not all). Basically, any site where you can buy something fabulous and save a good buck or two in the process. I pick Friday to do this feature, because I like to spend my weekends online shopping the most.

Last week my post featured Jewelmint, which you can read by clicking here. Today, I'm going to be focusing on Hautelook.

Also, just a note before we get started, this is all uncompensated. Every opinion, tip, trick, or motive I have for sharing these sites is purely self motivated and totally unsponsored. Now let's get on to the deals!

Out of all the flash sale and member only sites I'm apart of, I am the newest to Hautelook. At first I was hesitant to join. I've been seeing their ads on TV for years now, but I always thought that the things they'd sale would still be wildly out of my price range despite the discounts.

However, I recently decided to take the plunge after spotting a pair of hot pink wedges they were having a good sale on (unfortunately, they didn't have any left in my size). I'm happy to report that joining was certainly worth it and that I was wrong about being unable to afford anything they had to offer!

Though there aren't any fabulous new member deals, the regular deals are all pretty great.

For example, the day I joined Hautelook they were having a great sale on a few Urban Decay products. They had tinted moisturizer on sale for $5 when the normal retail value is $30. I went to check the Urban Decay site just to make sure the retail prices were consistent and discovered that the Urban Decay website also had the tinted moisturizer on sale, but for $9 (which is normally a great steal). Hautelook made a great steal even greater by knocking off $4 more dollars from a full sized item. I mean, how great is that?

The categories they have include women's, men's, kids, home and beauty. Everyday Hautelook has tons of sales in each category that go live (and sales last for about 48 hours...but a lot of the great deals sell out).

There are no membership fees or monthly obligations (ie - no commitment to purchase) which I love. In addition, you get free shipping on all orders over $100 and are eligible to return most items in original condition for a refund or store credit (store credit never expires). However, you cannot exchange your product for a different color or size. Also, you can get $10 of store credit by inviting friends. Once your friend buys their first item your account is credited with the $10.

Once you put an item in your shopping cart, you have 15 minutes to make the purchase. If you don't purchase in that 15 minute time window the item will be taken out of your cart. If it's still available you can re-add it. That's one of the aspects I'm not too fond of (because I'm really a big browser), but I guess they don't call them flash sales for nothing! For example, in the time it took me to type this post this dress I was loosely eyeing sold out in my size. That's crazy.

Some sale events they currently have going (as I type this) are Micheal Star, Vince Camuto Dress, Short Sale, Strappy Sandal Sale, Neutral Territory, BB Dakota and Jack, Dr. Martins, Billabong Men, Tan Towel, Ugg Footwar, Escada and Givenchy Sunglasses, Cuisinart, Silicone Kitchenware, theBalm, HGTV Home Lighting, and SO MUCH MORE. Plus, like I said, new sales start daily.

So basically, what I'm saying is that if you're a girl who likes fashion, beauty, and decorum on major sale (with no commitment membership) Hautelook is definitely a site for you to try.

You can try it now, by clicking through my personal invite link or visiting normally.

Hmm, I've never heard of HauteLook but the price comparisons you've provided got me thinking of joining this site. I'm a bit iffy about the shipping cost to Canada though :( shipping is always so expensive from US sites.
