Snowpocalypse 2013

December 06, 2013

So, it snowed. This may not sound like much to y'all, but down south, any snow is buzz-worthy. With about an inch of ice and 4-6 inches of snow covering that, I'd say we safely have entered Snowpocalypse 2013.

Even though we were warned, many people teetered between hard earned skepticism and survivalist preparedness. I went to Wal-mart Wednesday to stock up on some essentials of my own (aka the latest issue of Cosmo, cupcakes, an extra pair of gloves, a jug of water and apple cinnamon tea) and the entire bread/water/chip aisle had been raided down to next to nothing. It was insane.

The weather certainly didn't disappoint. We got half of Thursday and all of today out of school. Hooray for letting me procrastinate on my finals work! It truly looks like a winter wonderland outside. I'm spending my time relaxing and having movie marathons. If I do venture outside I make sure to bundle up extra tight with two pairs of gloves, two jackets, two layers of pants, warm socks, rain boots, and my new favorite scarf (pictured above) from Gap.

Also, may I add that experiencing a snow day while living in a sorority house is really different than any I've experienced before. The house is so quiet and there's the most random assortment of food around here. However, there's nothing to complain about. I've got a whole huge house that's warm and enough food to be happy and enough people around to entertain myself.

Oh, and the power hasn't gone out. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Have any of y'all been experiencing snow?
