Soaking Up September

September 09, 2014

(salty caramel ice cream cone from Pure Joy Ice Cream)

We had our first two 70 degree days of season and though they were short lived, they were amazing. I am so ready to launch myself into fall and complete all the fun things on my Fall To-Do List. However, I keep holding myself back from things like buying new candles and fall door decor and even a PSL because it's just not time yet

September is tricky month here in the south. It's still basically summer if the humidity is of any indication of the season, but then there are those rare 70 degree days that give you just enough of a taste of what's to come. One day calls for cardigans and another for tank tops. I found myself craving ice-cream one day and hot cocoa the next. It's madness, for sure.

Hearkening back to my goals for a kick ass 2014, I want to remember to live more intentionally and live in the moment this month. No rushing and no pressure. I want to take life one step at a time. So, today I'm reminding myself to soak it up this September, whether it be the sweltering sun or the sights and smells of pumpkin everything. This year has already been such an amazing one and I have no doubt it will continue that way.

I suppose this post didn't have much of a point, but they don't always have to, do they? Sometimes it's just nice to check in and let ya'll know where my head is at this week. I have lots to update you guys about and maybe a little recapping to do. I am scheduling some posts as we speak.

Stay tuned.

In the mean time, what does September mean for you?

  1. I love the idea of being intentional and living in the moment. I'm sooo bad at looking forward and not paying enough attention to now. I'd like to get better at that, although part of why I'm so bad at it has to do with the fact that I have things due (like papers) or long term goals but at the end of the day I think the happiest people focus on the now
