Hello all! Things continue to be busy, but just know that I'm working hard to schedule posts like crazy! Next week is homecoming, so it'll be another crazy/stressful week. I have a part in working on the lawn decorations for my sorority! In other news, next week, the beginning of my collegiate fancy series and a dorm room tour will be posted. I am so excited! Here is a little preview:
Le Swoon. Am I right? I basically fell out when I saw some of these gorgeous pictures featured on Kara's amazing blog the other day. Everything about this dorm room is beautiful, personal, lovely, crafted, and cozy. I'm seeking to find my own style in my dorm room...but making a dorm room feel at home really is a challenge (as well as keeping it clean enough for photographing purposes). However, I'm now thoroughly inspired and totally in love. Aren't you? To see more click here.

Hello my dearies! Today's 'dorm inspiration' post is in honor of the fact that today I move into my dorm today! Above I've listed some fun, functional, and favorite find for the dorm! In the fun section, I wanted something whimsical and colorful to be represented. Imagine a neutral dorm room with a bright floral rug or that ahmazing gypsy chandelier? Swoon!
In the favorites section you'll find my latest obsessions. The teal ruffle shower curtain is from Anthropologie. I recently spotted it in store when I went to pick out my bedding and fell in love. There are no words for how utterly gorgeous it is in person. However, a $118 shower curtain wasn't in my college budget. I picked up a plain teal curtain for about $12 to remind me of this lovely find! Lately, I've also been obsessed with the color gray and the pattern Chevron. That rug is the perfect antidote!
In the functional section, I've listed some neat, simplistic, yet functional items for the dorm. How neat is that white board decal? I think it'd be highly useful in a shared living space or in a dorm room to keep up with to-dos or write inspiring messages! The cable photo hook is also such a functional find for all those photos I plan on taking! No need for frames here!

So, did you guess correctly?
Last Friday I decided to take the plunge and buy the Laelia Anthropologie bedding I had been lusting for quite some time. My bedding conflict had been consuming a lot of brain space in the past couple weeks. Working with a small dorm room space, the bedding would be the main focal point of the entire room so I felt entitled to be a little picky (especially since I was spending my own money). I want something cozy, happy, whimsical, yet somewhat mature.
Initially, I didn't quite fall in love immediately. Then, after weeks and weeks of consideration I had decided this was definitely the bedding for me. It was a little pricey, but this is my one big college splurge (as I am forgoing buying lots of clothes, shoes, and jeans for college). It wasn't the most expensive bedding I had looked into purchasing and was so happy once I got to get into the actual Anthropologie store (that place is beyond gorgeous) and feel the quality.
An employee laughed at me as I ran up to the bedding rack, snatched up the last twin sized comforter, and hugged it to my chest for a few long moments. I then had to explain that buying this bedding was like a dream come true after weeks of conflicting thoughts, lusting, and longing. Haha!
Pictures simply do not do the Laelia bedding justice. It is so vibrant, soft, and lovely in person! It has just the right mix of everything I was looking for and I want to thank all of you who have helped steer and support me with my bedding decision with kind comments and suggestions over the past few weeks!

{Anthropologie & UO}
My bedding woes are now over! Repeat: MY BEDDING WOES ARE NOW OVER! WHOO-HOO! I went and purchased my bedding yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled with my final decision. The four featured above were all finalists in 'The Great Bedding Debate'. I liked #1 because it looked so mature to me. I'm in love with navy and gray, so this bedding caught my eye instantly. I loved #2 because of how whimsical and bright it was. Plus it would easily match any room accessories I picked out. As far as #3, I could just picture myself waking up under that duvet cover. It was soft and feminine, yet had this bohemian feel to it. Lastly, #4 looked so cozy and warm. I grew up with a quilt, so quilts automatically have a special place in my heart. I loved the gray as well!
So, can you guess which one of these four I chose for my bedding? Which one is your favorite? Which one would you have chosen for yourself?
I'll share my decision very soon!

Here are a few 8.5x11 prints that I made for my dorm. They're printed on high quality glossy photo paper (which explains the glare in some of the shots) and I'm really thrilled with how lovely they turned out. I'm going to put them in D.I.Y Polaroid frames to make my future dorm room room feel a little bit more like home!
I really am pleased with the way they turned out and I'm going to be adding a third print soon. I'm not sure what it's going to be yet, but I'm really excited to personalize my space. Suggestions? Ever since about twelve or thirteen I've been obsessed with hanging inspiring collages on my walls and now I'm venturing into my own prints! I have big plans for my dorm room and I can't wait to share them soon! -Sigh-
So, what makes your house feel like home? Is it a favorite art print, a cozy quilt, a D.I.Y jewelry holder, a photo wall or your thermos collection? I'd love to know!
College is next month and I've got so much piling up on my plate. One thing I've not prepped for yet? My dorm room. It's sort of been pushed menacingly to the back burner as I attempt to figure out the scary grown up world of loans, financial aid, working extra shifts, and...yah know...how to pump my own gas and deposit my own checks.
My biggest woe of the moment? BEDDING. FRIGGIN' BEDDING. I'm in a bedding pickle I just can't seem to commit to anything. Do I go for cheaper bedding that I like, but am not totally sold on (example 1)? Do I try to go for bedding that already matches things that I own, so I don't have to buy new color coordinated items for my whole room (examples 1&2)? Or do I go for white bedding (example 4)? It's neutral and I can spice it up fun and colorful sheets and pillows. Sheets are way less expensive than brand new bedding and I can get a variety of looks. However, isn't white bedding is just asking to get soiled with stains?
The one piece of bedding I'd commit to in a hot second would be example 3. It's bright, incorporates a bit of white space, is whimsical, and has a variety of colors that would match my current stuff. However, they only have it in Queen sized. I need twin or full sized bedding. -Sigh-
What to do?
Any suggestions, links to your favorite bedding, pillows, sheets, dorm or room apparel etc would be highly appreciated! How did you decorate your dorm room or bedroom? Any tips?

Here are just a few online finds I'd love to be in my dorm room this upcoming fall. Me and my suitemates are seriously considering the floral lounger along with the sleek Urban Outfitter's cushion bench for our living room. I think the sky blue bookshelf would look wonderful in our living space too. Also, for my own room I'm in love with the chevron inspired bedding! I MUST own it. In my room I've also been loving the instant photo frames for my walls. How nifty are they? Then for our shared bathroom how perfect is the simplistic (yet girly) white ruffle shower curtain?
Just some thoughts ♥

I'll be heading to college in the fall and I can't wait to decorate my dorm room! The plan is to room with three other girls in a suite like dorm. We'll have a private bathroom, two bedrooms (with two girls to a room), and a very small living space. I've started scoping out some cute pieces. What do you think?
The items above would be for our shared main living space. Our living space will be small so bringing in real furniture would be completely impratical. I wanted to avoid the futon route as well. I think the items above are functional, space appropriate, and are fun for a college student! (I also love the chair in sky blue) However, the price isn't so friendly at roughly $1058 for everything pictured above without tax & shipping. EEK!
These could be for my own bedroom space. I need lots of storage, something fun for the wall, and I really like how whimsical this duvet and matching wall decals are!
